Mammillaria help needed please
Could these two be variations of the same? I'm thinking M. tetrancistra.

Re: Gymno lost its colour
I've seen coloured Gymnocalycium varieties grafted onto columnars but is it normal for one to turn this weird orange colour? It was green about a month or so ago. It seems to have happened since I started watering. The plant is still firm, no mushy bits. All my other cacti are fine. Should I be wor...

Re: Gymno lost its colour
Thanks. I'll give that a try. No sun forecast here for the next week so that should help!

Square plant pots
I'm looking for good quality 2.5 - 3in pots here in the UK. A lot of what I've seen on Amazon or Ebay look thin and flimsy and not likely to last very long. Does anyone have any suggestions where can buy them?
Thanks.
Thanks.

First flower buds of the season
After a fairly cold winter here, having been in an unheated (but fleece protected) grenhouse, and not having been watered since October, it was a nice surprise to see flower buds on my Mammillaria ernestii yesterday. First one of many this year, I hope!

Re: Help with these three please
Thanks for confirming. I was pretty sure about the Stetsonia. For the other two I tried a plant id app. It came good for the M. formosa but was way off with the Fero.

Re: Help with these three please
Thanks Anttisepp. I wondered about Ferocactus at one point. It looks similar to a young F. glaucescens. I should go with my gut more often!

Help with these three please
I sort of promised myself that I wouldn't buy any new plants until April at least but I saw these yesterday in the garden centre, and you know how it goes! As usual, no ID of any kind so help is appreciated. First, is, I think, Stetsonia coryne. Second would appear to be Mammillaria formosa Galeotti...

Re: Watering UK
Hi Dave, thanks for the reply. I have a small number in the house, including a Melocactus, which I've waterd sparingly through the winter. I'll wait until the end if the month before starting up with the others, although I have noticed a couple that look like they're greening up.

Watering UK
Has anyone started watering yet in the UK? I've got most of my plants in an unheated greenhouse, where they've been under protection over winter. All but one have come through unscathed, despite some extremely cold nights (I'm on the edge of the North York Moors). Daytime temps recently have been qu...
