Mammillaria glassii has very pink flesh, the birds in my garden kindly showed me by pulling a rather nice clump apart for their nests a few weeks ago! Guess those hairs looked too tempting, perils of no greenhouse. Managed to save most of it though so I wasn't too upset.

No 2 looks like the yellow mutant of notocactus magnificus.

I got my caput-medusae seeds from succseed, (along with a bunch of other stuff) 4/5 germinated quickly. Not sure if he'd have sold out by now though.

Congratulations! That's an impressive recovery. Half a day of weak sunshine last week and my ferocactus latispinus has bleached out marks everything else was fine though. Hopefully that'll grow out quite quickly.

I thought my madisoniorum was marked! Very satisfying seeing them grow it out though.

I would be inclined to wait until its moved away from the apex of the plant.sometimes these are fairly easy to remove but if its a tough one I would try to tease it away, a bit at a time if necessary. Take your time and don't rush, it won't really bother the plant but they're not very nice.
