When the sap has come out on the outside as in the second picture it´s a sure sign that it is a goner. But it looks like a few of the smaller pups are OK.Remove them and start anew!

A whiteflowering Ariocarpus hybrid is in flower now and M.hernandezi has big buds here in Sweden.Had -10C this morning but the GH is at +4C. Unfortunatly i have 130km one way to where i have the GH so in winter i visit only about every three weeks, so i´m bound to miss some of the early flowers.... ...

I don´t believe its a beginning variegation but a sign that something is amiss and i think that the roots are in less than good condition. I would depot the plant and have a good look at the roots and then repot in a dry substrate. If the roots look like they are in growing condition give the plant ...

Beautiful plants and very well grown.You have really started out at high speed! Have you bought the plants at nurseries or by mail order? I once visited a couple of garden centers in Denver,Co.and was really surprised by what I found there, Discocactus, Pediocactus and lots of other very interesting...
