If you don't want to use chemicals you can always use neem. This works to some degree in repelling insects.

I also have a book by a highly respected author that lists cold hardiness figures, the lowest of which is 7C (45F) and that is only used for Opuntia and Pediocactus :shock: I'll suggest that if you keep Pediocactus at a minimum temperature of 7C (45F), they will die. 45f is not that cold.
