Neem oil on agave?

I've got a small agave americana with a small amount of scale that I can't seem to get rid of. Just when I think I've finally conquered them with rubbing alcohol and physically picking them off, I find another one. I've been trying to keep it isolated from my other plants, but I'd like to put it bac...

"Leaf", yes! For some reason I had a mental block and could only think of the term "arm"... It's too late to chop the head off the plant - the rot seemed like it had gotten pretty far down, so I threw the plant away. Oh well, maybe I'll try growing some a. capitata from seed - th...

Rooting aloe cuttings?

Hi,
I have an Aloe capitata which developed rot. I cut off two "arms" which the rot hadn't reached, but is it possible to root them? I haven't read anything encouraging about rooting aloe cuttings, unless it's an actual "pup" offshoot, which these aren't...

Thanks,
Rob

Source for Pachypodium seeds?

I'm trying to find a good source for pachypodium seeds - more specifically, some of the more uncommon types such as p. baronii and p. brevicaule. Mesa Garden seems to be out of stock of many of their pachy seeds currently, and I've always ordered from them in the past. Anybody know of somewhere else...

Thanks for the help - I've got that on a couple of other plants, but for some reason it didn't occur to me that that was what it was on this one. And now I know what's it called too! :)

Opuntia microdasys skin problem

My Opuntia microdasys seems to have some sort of skin problem - it's getting a light gray spreading along most of the pads. It doesn't feel soft, so I don't think it's rot, it hasn't been exposed to cold so it's not a result of that, I don't think it's sunburn either as it really hasn't had that muc...

Oh yeah, mine definitley come indoors for the winter (as do most of my succulents). They end up staying in for close to 6 months, unfortunately, because of the temperatures here.
Thanks for the link to the Shoal Creeek page - very helpful info there!

I transplanted the surviving one (of the two) yesterday and didn't notice any obvious signs of root mealy bug, but I guess they could still be there. So, what is proper winter care of stapelia's? Are there any good sites on the web with stapelia care info?
Thanks,
Rob

Stapelia's shriveling

I've got two Stapelia gettleffii's which, ever since bringing them in from outside for the winter, have been shriveling from the tips of the stems down, a few stems at a time. The stems get slightly discolored first and then start shriveling. I've tried more water and less water, with no noticeable ...
