Looks like most of the suggestions have played out, but I have one idea from another site which hosts a little friendly competition...In it the photos are sent to the moderator who then posts all the photos together (same time) without the names of the photographers. I don't know if that would make ...

Which reminds me I need to talk to him... lol I'm a Ranger at Papago Park (originally called Papago Saguaro National Monument, but n...

Buck, that may well have been damaged in transport or unloading, but I noticed a lot of saguaros transplanted in one area have similar damage (from frost most likely). The older, more established cacti do not seem to have the same damage. So the whole shock thing and reduced root structure may play ...

I've seen a lot of saguaros that look like they've done exactly what your plant is doing. I took a closer look yesterday and you are right...The upper portion died back but not enough to damage the very tip, as is evidenced by the other spines beside the new growth. It may end up looking something ...

Saguaro Main Stem Cut
I'm wondering about the new growth in the middle of this cut. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/2784_IMGP5789_1.jpg It can't be the saguaro continuing to grow. If it does grow, the new stem(s) will come from the edge of the cut in the green part. Or in this case, the top was not completely cut...

Senita - Lophocoreus schottii
Spotted these flowers in the thick spines of this Senita. Unfoturnately, I was too late to see them fully open as they tend to open in the evenings and close in the mornings. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/2784_IMGP5769_1.jpg Many more buds in there, so I should have more chances. The longe...
