Re: Aloe haworthioides
Thank you both for your advice. I think I'll keep the baby on the flower stem for as long as I can, then try to root it.

Aloe haworthioides
Can't take credit for it as I got it like that. Does anyone know why it sometimes grows a baby instead of a flower? And most importantly, what do I do with the baby when it gets bigger?

Re: Out of stock
Mesa Garden won't be supplying anyone with plants any time soon. Apparently, they reached their capacity for plant sails at the end of July. Which I think is ridiculous considering they didn't ship plants all winter until March. If they don't ship plants this winter either, it means nobody can buy p...

Re: EPI-DEMIC?
Oh my gosh, Susi! Gorgeous flowers! I'm in the same situation with my cactus/succulent collection--no room and stuff that I'm DYING to have. And trying to expand my Christmas cactus and EPI collection. I just love those colorful blooms. But I'm ashamed to say that I can't grow a Christmas cactus to ...

Re: Welcome Craig Fry!
Craig and Denise, I've noticed you have some Tylecodon seeds for sale. Have you ever tried growing Tylecodon from seed? If you have, any advice would be very appreciated. The only info I could find was that they are very difficult to grow from seed.

Yet, marijuana is legal. I believe, California was the first state to legalize it too. Go figure.Only California seems to ban all species of Lophophora:-
Adorable plant, by the way!

In the first month. May be they don't like high humidity like other cactus seedlings.

Growing Astrophytum from seeds help!
What is the secret to growing Astrophytums from seeds? I never had any luck with them. They germinate within a couple of days but then rot. Do you use the baggie method? How soon do take them out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: The Cactiguide Haworthia Thread
Technically, Haworthias would be called Winter Growers BUT!!! They really grow the most in the Spring, and some growth as well in the Fall, so they would be called mild weather growers if we had a name for that. I grow them almost all year long, due to our constant mild weather in So. California. D...

Re: The Cactiguide Haworthia Thread
Awesome plants, Craig and Denise!
I have only a few Haworthias and I'm never sure when to water them and when to keep them dry. Are all Haworthias winter growers? What is the proper watering schedule?

They are way too big for lithops seeds. Lithops seeds look like dust.

Have you checked out Mesa Garden? They have a huge selection of Lithops plants, and most go for $4.
