Not the area on the hill around it is where the pipeline was laid and where most of my saguaros came from :) thanks. I know I am being a ...

Cool. I know in other places it isnt as easy to grow cacti, although there are a few in the opuntia family that are pretty cold hardy as well as some forms of cholla, I think someone was growing a C. fulgida in the cold northeast...
cant remember who it was... but :)

I know they grow there cause in my old neighborhood we have a lake and a weird type of rock called serpentine which of course is an ore for chrome and asbestos(what a nice mix) one kills all the plants(chrome) and the other kills all the ...

They had to lower it to a crazy angle on top of the cab and it still just barely cleared the bridge. I thi...

Diamondman, thanks. Its interesting to note that many of the ones in my yard are also moved there from somewhere else. I took in the poor little(some really huge actually) saguaros that would have been destroyed. I just am glad that the in-laws let me have em..(even if their daughter divorced me eve...

me either. There are a few around the town in BCC but I have never seen them anywhere else. Since most of them are about the same age(they are around 30 or so years old at least) I wonder if they are all from the same cuttings. I have heard some people say that its a "boxing glove cholla" ...
