Daiv,
In Arizona I have had black widows living all over my house in the past. I finally got rid of most of them by spraying the females with green Lysol. That worked the best. Its no longer made, I wonder why? lol

and yeah like I was saying I Think those might be BW egg sacks.

hmm they look like kinda dark colored black widow egg sacs. Usually they are light tan to white and look sorta like that, however they usually are also in the web. So I would say some kind of spider egg sac as well, however I do not know insects that well so I might be way off on this. (edit) neverm...

pretty soon my AZ desert wildflowers will be blooming.
I have some of the lupines/CA poppies and a few others coming up with a bunch of weeds as well.

As for your plants they look sad, but I am sure they will start growing soon!

heh, I like it when everything is starting to bud. some of the Opuntias around here are starting to bud/bloom as well.

Some have blooms that are starting and a few others are growing tiny little pads.

Nice.

Different from what I am used to, although I do have some of those chollas ( Cylindropuntia leptocaulis) growing near me.

hmm that is a pretty interesting combination. I am pretty sure that I never grafted any trees however that sounds like a lot of different varieties of fruit.

hmm its funny how our cats love to play with our cactus and knock them over. My cat likes to knock over my small saguaro that sits on the window sill. Silly cat. My first cactus that I got when I was little and lived in PA was killed by my cat after he knocked it over a bunch of times. I think I als...

Vajaho that would depend on what type of cactus you are comparing it to. Ever bump into a cholla?

those are the worst.
The glochids suck, but trust me stepping on a saguaro areole sucks even more and is worse then just skin irritation.
