Hi Vicent
I think I want to first see this one die on its own roots ('') until I try grafting seedlings (that don´t exist up to now).
I will only spray it once in a while and put no humus in the substrate.

I was lucky to flourish together. It is normal to do so in June. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/2683_Eriosyce_laui_1.jpg Yes, they are grafted and they behave well. On their roots are very slow. Vicent Hi Vicent Are the lauii seedlings on the picture still alive ? I sowed some last spring ...

That is the problem with plants that come with no locality of origin wich can be trusted. The plants that are bought (or traded from other collectors) might be selected by means of color of flowers or neatness of spination, they might also be the result of accidential hybridisation. I think Friedric...

I was going to suggest that L. williamsii seed is fairly easy to obtain even though the plant is illegal in the US, and not hard to grow. However it seems like it may be a little too hard to grow  Like others, there isn't anything I'm desperately searching for. That's one of the benefits of ...

Hi Christer Looks a lot like the composition I use that is composed of perlite, lavalite grains (blackish brown), quarzite sand, pumice, red granite gravel and a just a little bit of standart cactus soil. The granite is said to contain a lot of minerals that are quite healthy for cacti plants. I hea...

Hey Christer Your seedlings look very healthy compared to most of the ones that survived from last winters sowing here. I just transplanted them to the new substrate the first time and i found that the sowing ground had concretet in the top layer very much. I had to break them out of little chips of...

Hey Christer Great makro photographing. Maybe the white background is a little problematic because of the brightness which produces such a contrast. I think Juan acosta uses a green background with also good results. Are these the seedlings you sowed last April? I never sowed Cop. dealbata myself bu...

Its easy to see the confusion! And not easy to know where a potted plant comes from unless it says so on the label ;) Even if it says so on the label you can´t be really shure that it is the plant (or a direct descendant of it) that was found on the labeled site. - even the best pepople can mix up ...

E. villosa should flower any time from about September/October through to maybe April, conditions permitting. That big fat bud would certainly come through with some water, they don't need much heat. Buds will abort once it gets really warm. All right then, I will give them a light shower today. Th...

Hi,Dale Did the Neporteria plant make a move in spring yet? I think Ian is right with Eriosyce (Np.) villosa. My villosa species in Northern Germany are getting ready for flowering season. The relatively short flowers (compared with Eriosyce /Neoporteria senilis) are typical for villosa. Also the na...
