i think that you have good graft material :lol:
you have material for 3 times grafting:
1st - top
2nd - small cacti from cutted that will graw
3rd - if something going wrong you can graft and botton upside-down :wink:

it looks like Mammillaria schiedeana with white spines and not so compact :)
you can see older stem and the top of mammilla

i think that M.ekmanii is old name of M.nivosa :wink:
i have a friend in Botanical garden :) he is a specialist of cacti and succulents :)
he knows alot of Mammillarias :)
in his home he has over 1000 cacti and var.
