TBM long form, what is happening??

My TBM cactus has been getting brown spot growing near the bottom: https://i.imgur.com/AZWabDZ.png https://i.imgur.com/1EhKdVk.png https://i.imgur.com/sCUcYXh.png It looks like rot, but the area is not soft like normal cactus rot. Also you can see in the bottom photo that the part under the top laye...

Re: Coryphantha elephantidens inermis - is it sick?

Thanks! Yes it is from SE Asia. I noticed the blue stuff and was wondering about that too, should I at least try to wash the copper off?

Do you recommend I degraft it now as well? They didn't give much dragonfruit root stock (3-4 inches) and the scion is like 3x the rootstock size

Interesting, that's a lot of scars, you think insects did that over a period of time then?

Coryphantha elephantidens inermis - is it sick?

I ordered a graft for the first time and it came mostly healthy, but I noticed it has a ton of orange spots, not sure if that is rust or just bad in any sense... Also from the second picture, you can see it has yellowish blotches under the skin, it looks like variegation, but I haven't heard of this...

Re: my astrophytum hate grafts for some reason

Hi, Hanazono, thank you for the detailed response. I'm aware of the vascular bundle alignment, and have aligned them in my grafting attempts. I think what you see in the picture like this: https://i.imgur.com/S2wLwLg.png that is not the vascular ring, that is the dried skin of the pereskiopsis wrapp...

my astrophytum hate grafts for some reason

I've been grafting a few seedlings on pereskiopsis over the last few months, I have had a lot of success with lophphoras that are 1 month old. However, when I tried grafting some 1 month old astrophytum and ariocarpus seedlings, my success rate has dropped significantly. I basically have 1 out of 10...

Re: wrinkly lophophora at the top

I agree. The unusual surface seen best in the 2 first shots are typical of sun scald. Your advice is good, and easy to try. Very few members of this genus will tolerate much sun L.alberto-vojtechii, L. fricii, , and L. koehresii seem to tolerate the most. Interesting, I have some L koehresii, do L ...

Re: wrinkly lophophora at the top

I see, the weird thing here is that the ones in the picture are still really firm, and I'm watering the pereskiopsis one quite often. I guess this might just be the epidermis variation you were mentioning? Do you think this will "recover" over time, or will the skin stay like this and just...

I have some other grafts from the same mother plant that are doing fine. I'm us...

Re: Weird tiny black bugs in my soil

Thanks, getting a magnifying glass might take me a while, but in the meantime here is a video if that helps. https://i.imgur.com/0cwQjdX.mp4 Yeah the soil is kind of moldy with algae growing. I only keep my pereskiopsis plants like this since they seem very resilient to the wet, they sometimes start...

Re: Weird tiny black bugs in my soil

Also if it helps, some of them crawl up to the actual cactus, not sure if that is a thing springtails do
