Re: My GreenHouse Build.
I have followed you since your first post about building your greenhouse. I would say that you have had great luck with your HOA! Everything looks great.

word spelling ????
With regards to Euphorbia, would you be discussing "monstrose" or "monstruosa" ? I am making a name board for a new purchase, and Planet Desert thinks the first, Cactiguide thinks the latter. I readily follow Cactiguide, but maybe one is a verb and one is an adjective, or a diffe...

Re: My GreenHouse Build.
I am shocked that the HOA allowed the old potting bench to exist!

revised my inside growing setup
I posted last year on trying to set up a place to always grow inside. I received quite a few helpful suggestions. I did not feel that I had the right lights, so I changed out my Mars Hydro FC-E3000s for FC-E6500. Basically, this took me from 2'x2' to4'x4'. Since my table is 4'x12', the 3 lamps compl...

Re: need grow light assistance
The room has heat and air in it, but it is turned off. During overwinter time (November through March), if it is 25 or 30° F outside, I cannot get it much lower than 60° F inside. I use 8 hours of light in overwinter and 12 hours during the summer. I have 24 hour dehumidifier and 24 hour 16" os...

need grow light assistance
I grow my cactus plants inside as I posted in late September. I need some assistance from someone that is familiar with Mars Hydro FC-E3000 operation and can help me with changing from overwinter settings to growing season settings. I plan to do this in late March, but I have no ideas how. I do not ...

Re: growing inside
I have followed the suggestions. I have a lux meter, local de-humidifier (24 hour), 16" isolating fan (24 hours) and timers for the lights. I started overwinter procedure Nov 1 with very slight water every 4th week and lux reading 10 to 12K. So far, so good.

Re: growing inside
A dehumidifier might be a good addition to your setup - actually remove moisture from the air, instead of just moving it around with a fan. Would also provide a source of mineral-free water for your plants. I plan to have a fan mounted above each grow light, tied into the light timer. I plan to hav...

Re: growing inside
I appreciate all the comments. I started my experiment at 20K on Dr. Meter Professional at 8 hours light per day. I will keep a close eye on this because the plants are pretty young, and there are some taller Euphorbia in the mix. That was one of the reasons for having 3 zones to have different heig...

growing inside
This is my second summer with cacti, so I am new to the hobby by any definition. I am not able to get enough sun in my yard to grow them, so I have moved everything inside on a year around basis. I have ask several questions here about overwinter, flowers, etc before I made this decision. My persona...

indoor cactus growing
If I remember to set aside a dormant period for watering, is there any reason that I cannot grow my cactus plants under grow lamps year around? There would be no natural light and a temperature range of 65° to 75°F.
