Re: lophophora williamsii Seed request
Are you in the US or elsewhere? I'm in Canada and I ship Lophophora seeds of all kinds of varieties all over the world except the US.

Re: Reliable seed source?
From my experience Gerardo.cz is one of the worst for seeds because of a complete lack of communication and length of time it takes to get seeds. Paypal just refunded my order with them last week, which I placed in July 2019. I sent several emails at about a month interval apart inquiring if my orde...

Re: Growing Indoors under lights
Is it just me or is your pickle plant thinner and stretching for light? I have a few very similar four foot T5 grow lights and I also am very happy with the growth they give, though the amount of heat generated in a small room is not fun.

Re: Can I degraft this?
Did you buy these from a Polish seller? The Myrtillocactus stock looks familiar. Before slicing, give it a light tug just to see if it might pull off without damage. Before I slice my degrafts, I often check if it can be simply twisted off from the rootstock. Sometimes this lets you save a step in w...

Re: Systemic insecticide
I don't think there are any (legal) systemic insecticides available in the EU anymore (for private/hobby use) - at least not based on neonicotinoids. Please give examples if you know any. I believe us Canadians have the same restrictions. Yes: Canadians are overprotective regarding this matter, at ...

Re: Systemic insecticide
Any recommendations for finding a systemic insecticide that is legal to import to Canada? I cannot find one on any garden shelf and the typical Amazon.ca search results are pretty bare.

Succulents that reproduce as easily as Bryophyllum delagoense (Devil’s backbone) (Mother of Millions)?
I'm sure Mother of a Thousand (Mother of Millions) doesn't get too much respect because it is one of the easiest succulents to grow. It's tolerant of a lot of abuse and is typically the bane of a greenhouse grower for how easily it reproduces and propagates on existing pots and planters. That said, ...

This is the non monstrose variety you're grafting too? Why is there what appears to be yellowing staining on the top of the exposed rootstock?

Re: Creating a monstrose Pereskiopsis through grafting
This is all news to me. I was not aware Austrocylindropuntia sublada f. monstrose is considered infected with a virus. Would that be any and all examples found for sale, assuming they're all coming from the same parent plant? I'll be following closely to see your results.

Re: Legality of Lophophora Decipiens
David Hunt compiled the CITES check list for the IOS and his New Cactus Lexicon recognises L. diffusa, L. fricii, and L. williamsii. As David died recently it is debatable whether anybody else in the IOS is going to amend the checklist based on morphology with a modern update based on DNA Sequencin...

Re: Just bought a variegated Schlumbergera
Schlumbergera and other epiphytes could use a more organic mix than that - in habitat they grow in almost straight leaf mold. In a pot the mix should be well-drained, but more moisture-retentive than for desert cacti - during the growing season they prefer to not get very dry. I'm sure that will wo...

Re: Red spider mites damage?
I have successfully fended off red spider mite damage (which this definitely is) with daily water sprayed on the surface of the infected area. From what I understand and from what I've experienced personally, they thrive in dry environments. During the winter, with the heat on, things dry out really...

Re: Who's on Instagram
Nope. I hate Facebook / Instagram / Whatsapp. I stay out of my way from this awful company. I'm with you. I do not have an account but I maintain a list of growers that I follow updates on. Some amazing variegate sellers and Astrophtyum specialists from Europe are on Instagram. The same can be said...
