Re: Grafting doubts

Some very thin plastic film. I kept the graft under led lights. Yesterday it was looking healthy. Maybe it lost too much humidity too soon? Next time, try just placing it on top of the Pereskiopsis and use humidity to keep it from drying out. This can be accomplished by placing the grafting stock c...

Re: cosmo's grafts

20180909_162102.jpg This is my only successful graft so far really, if you can call it that. I posted it in another thread earlier and it's actually grown a little since then. It was grafted some time in October 2013, so not a whole lot has been going on in the past 5 years. It's a lophophora willi...

Re: Parafilm vs grafting tape?

I will just comment to reaffirm what you probably have already experienced: grafting tape usually makes the process far more difficult with seedlings on Pereskiopsis. There is enough juice and ease with maintaining humidity that just placing them on top like you do is best strategy I have found. Reg...

Re: Degrafting

Hanazono, thank you for sharing these wonderful tutorials. I see in many of your examples, you use wet clay granules after removing the leftover tissue from the root stock. What is the purpose of this? Specifically, do you know the content of the clay granules? I am wondering if there is a substitut...

Canadian here. I try to grow thousands of seedlings a year. I usually have some oddities left over and am always looking for something interesting/challenging/strange, etc.

Canadian Grafter Finally Posting

Good Morning everyone! I put together an account a while ago and finally have made my way around here to posting. I would like to be more involved and learn more from other cactus enthusiasts. I own the website that matches my username. Yes, I know it is due for a long overhaul. It was originally ju...

Re: Lost Tags, Help Re-identifying my Turbinicarpus

First and third look like T. klinkeriannus, second can be T. lophophoroides. Thanks for your feedback. That was what my gut was telling me. Theoretically, my original records could be wrong but I'm fairly sure those are the possibilities. The thing throwing me off on the First and Third both being ...

Lost Tags, Help Re-identifying my Turbinicarpus

I've had these beauties blooming all of August and have been collecting envelopes of seed, but somehow during the summer, their tags were lost. I do know from my records elsewhere that these can be either: T. klinkeriannus, T. lophophoroides, or T. roseiflorus but not necessarily one of each. Your a...
