low e glass, how does it effect cacti growth?

this morning I opened my east door to collect snowmelt to water my plants. The warmth of the sun streaming in was wonderful! Nearly all of my windows are low e glass and pass almost no heat. Are they filtering out wave lengths that cacti need to grow or grow well?

i have been keeping cacti for many years in heated rooms over the winter and outside in an open shelter in summer. I water very lightly about once a month in winter to prevent root loss. in March I up the frequency to every 2 weeks, but still a small quantity( not enough to drip). When I see growth ...

I have found that the greenish/brown slime is very attractive to fungus gnats and they will destroy whole pots full of seedlings. they eat the roots or hollow out the seedlings.
