Shade cloth for cheap (DIY tip)

Hello! I put together a shaded plant shelf so I can put my seedlings outside without them scorching and I wanted to share it with you. I bought a stand/shelf from Ikea for €9.99, and a mosquito net for about €12. This was all I spent, and as succulents don’t need heavy duty (expensive) shade cloth, ...

Re: Where to find good lophophora williamsii seeds?

If you are in Europe and are willing to pay postage I will send you some for free. Mine are now starting to fruit so they will be super fresh and I always end up with hundreds that I don’t really want/know what to do with them. :)

Super Kabuto in ziplock

Hi all! Today I’ve started taking some of my seedlings out of their ziplock bags. I usually take them out fairly quickly after germination but this time I’ve been leaving them as long as possible and honestly the results are so much better. I don’t know what to do with my Astro Super Kabutos! I can’...

Ariocarpus and Aztekium sowing medium

Hi guys, I've just gone and bought yet another big batch of seeds (my girlfriend will be over the moon  ) and also receiving some from Aiko (HUGE THANKS!) Anyway I have quite good success with my seed grown plants, however I've also decided to try some Ariocarpus Fissuratus and kotschoubeyanus ...

Re: What plant do you want most, but have been unable to find?

Maybe I haven’t searched hard enough but I really want an Ariocarpus Kotschoubeyanus v Macdowellii (El Pilar). I know seed is available on Mesagarden but obviously it can’t be sent to Europe. I love Arios a lot but this one is extra special for me, not only for how it looks but because where I live ...

Super freaky hybrids discussion!

Hey all! I thought it could be an interesting topic to talk about any hybrids that you’ve created from your collections. Maybe two extremely different species which have produced something really cool. I was thinking about trying to create Opuntia Santa Rita x Microdasys (not exactly extreme) and it...

Re: Winter time ☃️

Thank you all for the useful replies. I agree that I think most info is conservative, I guess it makes sense as I’d be quite upset if my plants died but I really don’t like bringing them inside as my house is warm and light isn’t great so etiolation is a worry, plus I know most species benefit from ...

Winter time ☃️

Hi, I have some serious doubts about over wintering my plants this year. There is a tonne of information online but so much of it is conflicting so this question is going to be very ‘me’ specific, and I hope to hear your opinions which I believe are much more valuable than the stuff you can find onl...

Re: New guy who likes cacti!

Thanks for the warm welcome :D I love some Arios too, it seems everyone here has great taste! Especially Kotschoubeyanus, the flatter the better in my opinion. Unfortunately don't have them in my collection yet but looking to buy some seeds after summer :)

New guy who likes cacti!

Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself! I'm a long time cactus enthusiast living in Spain and have decided to get a bit more involved with other cactus/succulent enthusiasts (as there's only so much my girlfriend can pretend to be interested in  ) If anyone is interested, I also have an Inst...
