thank you teo and elieestephane. the seed mix says it contains several different barrel, hedgehog, prickly pear, cholla, cardon and saguaro. I guess the problem with common names is that the same name can refer to several different species such as I found several that are called fishhook barrel. my ...

I am fairly new to growing cacti from seed but from what I understand, seedlings will be slow growing at first as most of their energy is used to grow their root system but at some point their growth rate will increase.
