Not an austrocylindropuntia - the stem is too flat. No idea what it is though.

They're proper little seed factories, those fellers!

I have a potful of seedlings from last year's seed - I'll be doing the same again next year!

The opuntia looks to me like a Cumulopuntia boliviana that has become elongated because of poor light.

Hmm, it could be santaritense... or it could be any number of others! It's a good-sized plant though, very nice. I find them very addictive, and have a little platoon of them now. Is that opuntia pad the one I sent you? They do sometimes sit around for a while till they get going, but get going they...

What species of Frailea did you buy Hob? I can't really tell from the pic, but thought that the one Frailea-like plant might be something like F. santaritense?

Don't forget to treat it like a bog plant in summer :)

The elongated pads would be normal for a short-spined form of erinacea or one of its relatives perhaps?

It was in Marenopuntia once upon a time, too... it's an interesting one, and one which I find quite difficult to root pieces of, for no good reason.

Lovely flowers though.

The former Micropuntias are lovely things too. I've a nice bushy tuberculosirhophalica, also from Cactus Art.

Some opuntioids in flower and bud

I'm having a good year with my various Opuntia types; for the first time I've got more than one in flower or bud at the same time, which is really exciting. Yes, I ended up binning the pieces I had left from that plant Hob as I had much the same thing. I think it had been without roots for so long that the pieces just weren't going to bother. This other plant was younger and much healthier - nice tuberous roots on each piece after I split it, so each on...

Excellent Suleyman. I've just split up a nice clump that had been attacked by red spider mite; it's been a bit stubborn about flowering ever since getting scorched a few years ago, so I'm hoping that dividing it might rejuvenate it a bit. It was a "big" clump - i.e. about 3 1/2" acros...

Most of those were bought last year, to be honest, apart from the T. schwarzii at the top, which I've had for years.

I am raising them from seed as well; this year I've a large crop of seedlings of schwarzii and a few of valdezianus from my own seed.

No problem Darryl, a bit of healthy questioning never did anyone any harm anyway :)
