Re: Photos from my greenhouse
If you miss picking eriocactus fruits by one day, the tiny seeds will spread all over. Add a lot of rain and warmth and this happens: 20200127_142739-768x1024.jpg 20200127_142745-768x1024.jpg 20200127_142746-768x1024.jpg 20200127_142749-768x1024.jpg Better resolution photos: https://ibb.co/dW9pYcK h...

Re: Appropriately potted?
Ferocactus wislizeni grows quite fast so i'd say this is about right. Even if overpotted/underpotted, you can get around it with how much and how often you water

Re: Photos from my greenhouse
There is a very large grower in the San Fernando Valley and when I walked the nursery a few months back I was amazed at how many plants had weeds growing in them. Some were overrun with weeds. They seem to get into everything. Since posting the first glimpses of your greenhouse, have you got it mor...

Re: Photos from my greenhouse
I always pull them as soon as they show. However, my cacti were very wet at the time i put them in the greenhouse and i thought the weeds could help them dry faster. When they start to wither, i'll know the soil is completely dry

Re: Column Cactus ID
It is Cereus of some sort, possibly Cereus peruvianus I'm curious why you think it's Cereus. The flowers look like Echinopsis to me (though I understand they're closely related). I don't have much Cereus experience and I'm curious how you IDed it as such Echinopsis have hairy flower tubes while cer...

Re: Systemic insecticide
I've decided to start treating some of my plants with a systemic insecticide. It's best to treat them all otherwise they'll hide from plant to plant. I've only used acetamiprid with amazing and veey fast results but i'm not sure about its legal status in the US. As Mercelo recommends, imidacloprid ...

Re: Baby Cacti Identification
Good results! The tall one looks like a cereus species, maybe forbesii. The yellow one looks like my ferocactus diguetii seedlings but a closer photo would help. The red one could be one of many ferocactus species.

Re: Photos from my greenhouse
I grow my gymnos in full sun and they reward me with thick and dense spines. The thick ones on the pflanzii are particularly attractive to me. Here are some samples
