sempervivum type flower growth on echeveria second

I haven't posted here in awhile but One of the echeverias in one of my outdoor bed has grown a terminal flower stalk instead of the usual radial flower stalks typical to the species, What is also unusual is that has been flowering since June, while my other plants of the species stopped flowering in...

That is pretty fascinating. I live on the Mendocino coast and enjoy seeing these plants in flower every year. I am glad these plants are being returned

Thanks for the I.D. It’s my first variegated columnar and was only $4. It was definitely a score.

Re: Nic's Cacti

Often when I go to Walmart I check their cacti. They usually have nothing really good, but I go anyway. Yesterday when I went, they had received a new shipment and hadn’t even unwrapped it. I immediately noticed a variegated cereoid near the back and promptly bought it and a few others, but the vari...

Re: My Stetsonia coryne is turning yellow.

A similar thing happened to my harrisia fragrans, I repotted it and it turned yellow, checking the roots revealed rot, and after surgery, the plant dried up and died. I have a picture of the plant starting to turn on the first page of my member topic, in the end it turned completely yellow.

Definitely an opuntia but they can be rather annoying to I’d at the best of times Flowers might help. It looks like it has too few glochids for engelmanni.

Re: Nic's Cacti

The hard part about my home in Cali is that it is moist year round, it doesn’t get that hot in summer, which often helps some cactus species bloom, and winters generally consists of fog, rain, and cloudy skies. Not the best place to grow cacti without a greenhouse.

Re: Nic's Cacti

I know, it has probably been one of my worse years as far as cacti has been concerned since the move and going to school, about two thousand miles from my cacti it is hard to keep up with them.
