Plant dying from infection :(

Post by kevin28n »

Does anyone know what has infected my cactus? This guy just randomly started going down hill.
I noticed these things on it that look like scale. but I dont know what it is exactly.
I dont think theres hope for saving this guy cause the infection is pretty bad but want to learn and try to treat it.

Thanks for your guys help! :)

First thing you could do is take some cuttings from it, fresh unspoiled ones, and let those callous over, and reroot. If whatever infection is taking down your plant, you have a chance to save it and restart. Your plant is a Euphorbia, so it will spill white sap from the wound, which is toxic, so be careful.

As Jangaudi already indicated, the best course of action to save at least part of the plant, is to cut off healthy looking pieces and root them.
The pathogen on your Euphorbia sp. does look like an aggressive fungus. Spraying a fungicide or even using a systemic fungicide will most likely
not stop it.
