I’ve had this ferocactus for a year now. The tag labelled it as a wislizeni, but I had serious doubt after comparing it to the images online. What do you think? Thanks!
Plant about the size of an orange (7 cm or 3” in diameter)

Misnamed Ferocactus
I suck at identification
Re: Misnamed Ferocactus
From the "craters" above some areoles it looks as if it's flowered, which at "orange sized" would be a bit small for F. wizlizeni.
It may in fact be Hamatocactus setispinus?

It looks healthy, I'm slightly surprised it isn't in bud at the moment. They flower at a quite small size.

Thanks for the correction and the positive ID. Yes, it's quite robust. I have no idea why it hasn't bud this year, I bought it with all flowers faded last year and gave it a chilly winter that lasted from November to May (I live in Toronto, Canada). Maybe it's just really late this year?

Re: Misnamed Ferocactus
Yes Dodi it's been moved around a bit in recent years, Nigel Taylor mentions it in his Ferocactus transfers and solved the name problem by retaining the later name setispinus. Since the plant we had called Hamatocactus setispinus for years was claimed to earlier have been named Cactus bicolor that takes priority. Therefore if you retain it as a Hamatocactus it really should be Hamatocactus bicolor, but not sure that combination was ever legitimately made?
Anyway see the more detailed explanation I did here:-
