Another "Growth Over Time" topic. Again, I rely on comments from members in order to help me determine whether or not these things have any value at all. Your comments are welcome. Even harsh criticism. I'm just too old for anybody to hurt my feelings.
Oh GREAT!!!!! This derned system is turning my pictures sideways again. Sorry about that people ... I have NO control over this.
Euphorbia horrida noorsveldensis red
1 2016 -- When I first purchased this Euphorbia in November of 2016, it was already a fair sized plant ... about six inches tall. It is 11 inches tall at the start of the 2018 growing season.
2 2017 -- One year later, you can see, despite the lack of coin in the 2017 pic for scale, that it has made a fair amount of growth. The spines at the top of the 2017 pic are a good 2" from the top of the plant in the 2016 pic.
3a 2018 -- Nearly twice as tall as it was 2 years ago.
3b Top of the plant with new growth and flowers.
3c Closeup of top of plant with flowers. They are NOT very spectacular, but that is indeed what they are.
3d Another closeup of the flowers, but taken two weeks later. Not quite as fast a grower as sea weed, but that's a fair amount of growth in two weeks. Eventually the flowers will die, and the spines that they are on will turn a deep dark redish color (hence the "red" in the plants name), evenually fading to brown or tan.
3e1 & 3e2 It's even got two offsets this year. I cannot wait to see what they look like at the end of the year!
