I thirst for information!
I know some of the basics about cacti and how to care for them, but I want to go deeper. Does anyone know of a book that goes into detailed, advanced information about cacti? You know, more than just "arieoles and tubercules and roots and spines"?
Don't underestimate the Dancing Boomerang Clam.

This book has that info and is an excellent value: http://www.exoticplantbooks.com/detail/?product_id=463" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti
Re: I thirst for information!
Not so much a book, but the online articles by James Mauseth may be what you are looking for. Click on the "Introduction", "Epidermis" etc links on the side of the link below:-

These days if you know how to Google there is as much online on the Cactaceae and Other Succulents as in books.

another way to get free information (esp in PDF format which is great cause you can download them and read them when you want too) is to use Google's scholar search which takes you to people's research projects. Many are available for free. Also you can find books you can download for free too. I got one about the eruption of Krakatoa. It was interesting.
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
