A Dozen Lilies

Post by daiv »

Figured I'd post some lily shots just for the fun of it. The last two are common day lilys - one is the old fashioned and the other is the ever-present "Stella de oro"

Those are nice flowers, Daiv! :D
The last two are Day Lilies judging by their grass-like leaves. My favorite one is the pendulous one (fourth from the top), with number eight a close second.

Harald,
Yep, I pointed out that those were the two most common Day Lilys, but common as they are, they are still nice.

By the way, the one you pointed out is an old garden standby up here anyway. I was always told it was a "Seven Sisters Lily", but I'm not sure that is correct. I believe it is Lilium columbianum and an actual species, but again not certain on that.

Well, they are on the family farm 9 miles south of where I live. My brother lives there, but we plant stuff together so I have some feeling of ownership any way.

All three are beauties! However, I do like the second image best, because of the nice dark stemens that the blossom possesses. :)
