Hello,
yesterday I stumbled across this tiny plant in a 5cm / 2in-pot. Anybody an idea wht it might be or wants to become?
I checked the Euphorbias & found E. bupleurifolia & E. pubiglans as candidates...?
Thank you very much for your help.

Euphorbia bupreurifolia x susannae?
Re: What the heck is this?
Or perhaps a juvenile Euphorbia cv. Cocklebur?
Be carefull when applying oil-based insecticides, it makes the leaves wilt and fall off. I just had it happen. They will grow back I presume.

Do you know what these tiny structures are that look like something growing out between the "warts"?
Thank you very much, bbarv and ohugal.

Now I was nosy what a "Cocklebur" might be. It seems to be the vulgar name of a quite a couple of plants; here with latin & german translations. We see one cause more to use latin names!
N.
cocklebur [Agrimonia eupatoria, syn.: A. officinalis] -- Kleiner Odermennig
cocklebur [Arctium lappa] -- Große Klette
cocklebur [genus Xanthium] -- Spitzklette
common cocklebur [Xanthium strumarium] -- Gewöhnliche Spitzklette
large cocklebur [Xanthium strumarium] -- Gewöhnliche Spitzklette
rough cocklebur [Xanthium strumarium] -- Gewöhnliche Spitzklette
spiny cocklebur [Xanthium spinosum] -- Dornige Spitzklette

Re: What the heck is this?
When I first posted this I was wondering about the little green tips between the "warts".
Now the question is answered as you can plainly see: They are the beginnings of little cutlings. At least three more have just started to grow besides the two big ones.
