Re: My collection
Went to Baja last week on a fishing trip to Baja de Los Angeles. My friend pancho that lives there has a ranch and gladly took us on a tour which was truly awesome. I really wanted to find some cochemiea and echinocereus but in his valley I was unable to find any. About 20 min up the road towards San Borja mission it’s heaven for them. Anyways here’s some pictures

Re: My collection
Hello Vingames1,
those scenic views of cacti growing in Baja California are great. That group of Ferocactus gracilis? is nice, as are the images showing large numbers of other cacti. What are the skinny, tall cacti called? Also, on the last photo, among the cacti (chollas?) there is a plant with a bleached looking spiny trunk present. What kind of succulent is that?
Harald

Re: My collection
I believe the fero is some sort of Ferocactus cylindraceus. The tree looking thing is a boojum tree. Some of them are giantshegar wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 8:40 pm Hello Vingames1,

Re: My collection
Was out fishing San Clemente island which is roughly 55 miles off the Southern California coast and saw this cactus. If anyone knows what is it let me know. I have a few ideas but if anyone knows I’d appreciate it.

Re: My collection
Ok people FREE PLANTS! I am running out of room and I’m not really into selling these plants. If you send me like 10$ for shipping I’ll send you a haageocereus versicolor. They are grown in a lot of sun so they should adapt to most people growing space. Let me kno if anyone wants one

Re: My collection
Some more. Any questions feel free to ask. After a good amount of years of growing now I’ve realized to just give them a nice soil mix, acidified water, and light fertilizer and just let them do their thing.. eventually they’ll get comfortable and start to grow well. Thanks for looking

Re: My collection
The cactus on San Clemente Island photos are hard to see
But the long ones are most certainly Bergerocactus emoryi
https://cactiguide.com/cactus/?genus=Bergerocactus
I worked on San Clemente Island a couple times, and the plant is very common there
What is odd is that all the rocks are covered in beautiful thick lichens and moss.
and just across the 26 miles of ocean to the shore all the natural lichens and mosses that should be there are long gone due to air pollution.
Vingames, I have question,
Where do you live?
Please put your location as part of your Avatar
Thanks
Love your collection
