G'morning keith,

Thanks for your comment.
The next Wednesday will be 40 'C. I have to cover greenhouses by shade cloth before that day.

I covered over greenhouses in my backyard in this morning by 50% shade cloth.
This setting is for summer season and will be kept for 4 months until mid of March.

Small greenhouse: Asterias only

Large greenhouse: various cacti

Good evening Frank,

my friends in Arizona explained it to me a few years ago.

"K.W. if you want to cultivate cacti in Germany, buy a greenhouse and a good heating!
Do you want to cultivate cacti in Arizona, buy yourself a good shade cloth!"

Frank, you have it better than we do in Germany - no heating costs!

Best regards

K.W.

G'day K.W.

I try to maintain within 50'C in my greenhouses in mid of summer.
Shade cloth is essential to do this job.

Your Pelecyphora aselliformis are doing great did you grow them from seed and graft them and then de-graft them ?

G'day keith,

Yes they all are propagated from seeds. Seedlings were grafted once and degrafted/rooted later.
