Thats a pretty little Mammillaria elongata you got there! :)

I just got two of them (with different spine colors). Yours also seems to be pupping quite nicely.

I have had these before and I killed mine from putting it into too large of a container and overwatering.
These will pup until they spill out over the edge of the pot. haha... they like to make babies!

But growing them from seed would be fun. Let me know how that works out for you.
I do not know if they are self fertile or not. That would be interesting to find out.
If not then you will need two different ones (that are not pups of the same parent).

I agree. M. elongata has white flowers.
I thought it was 'pink nymph'?

M. elongata flowers can have some pink in them, but those are quite strongly coloured and the spines do have a sort of M. microhelia look to them.

looks sorta like the 'Pink Nymph' hybrid which is between M. microhelia and M. elongata.
This one looks slightly different than mine does BUT it could just be slightly etiolated.

vlani,
maybe. I have two that look the same.. they are a non-natural forming hybrid between M. elongata and M. microhelia and are probably cuttings that were rooted.

My M. elongata: it has rather insignificant cream flowers, your flowers are much prettier!

Thanks for your compliment. I bought this one yesterday at the gardening centre in duiven. Was only 1,99. I hope the two other buds open soon. One flower is closed all the way.

Darryl, I believe you are correct. Although at least on here M. elongata is listed as having pink/yellow flowers.

I have both M. elongata (white flowers) and M. microhelia (white flowers) and M. 'Pink Nymph' which has pink flowers. I know it gets confusing but both M. elongata and M. microhelia can have pink flowers. The 'Pink Nymph' is a cultivar. If you like lots of flowers it's a good plant to get whatever it's name is. It's got tons of pink flowers from Fed-late Sept here in AZ
