Glad Sax brought that up, as it may be the norm for the next few years! Who knows though. The construction project is "said" to be done in 2015.
CCN will be selling, so i'll be there the whole time, look forward to seeing you again (Tristan) and meeting some others from the forum!

Not San Pedro. Stenocereus pruinosis or maybe Polaskia chichipe.

Nice plant, but i think these require a male and female if you plan to make seed. Which you should seeing how rare (and expensive) they are!

Re: Claims to be Echeveria Chroma, but doesn't look like it?
It could be Ech. chroma, but thats usually used for variegated forms. It's growth is rather distorted from lack of proper light, but it could be Echeveria melaco. Basically another name for chroma but without the variegation...atleast, thats what i was told, i'm not much into Echeveria so i could be...

Re: Night watering???
False, you can water day or night. Yes, it's best either early morning or just before/after sunset. As long as they get water they'll be fine. However, do not water at the peak of the day (11am to 3pm) when it's full blazing sun. You run the risk of scorching. If it's overcast, water away!

Nice! One of my fav Eriosyce with it's cage of black spines. They bloom at an amazingly small size, as small as your thumb tip in some cases!

Re: Unnamed Avonia
Hmmm... I know a Tim Harvey who is a serious grower and collector of succulents (he is the CSSA Journal editor). I wonder if that is named after him? It is! He discovered it 2006 but it wasn't formally described until 2011. I think it was on a trip with John Lavranos? or John had some hand in it an...

Re: Two dumb questions
Here's another alternative, i'd bet for less than the price of a labeler and the expense of the refills going through a collection, you could find an older reliable used ribbon style thermal printer. For less than $150 you be set for life with non-fading waterproof labels!

Unnamed as in you don't know the name? or unnamed in that it hasn't been described yet?
Either way, it's a beaut with those big flowers! Wouldn't mind getting my hands on it

Great pics, Barry!
Hate to nitpick, but i believe JTNP is in San Bernardino Co.
That's a very unusual pink color for Cyl. ramosissima.
