There are a few standard, mass-produced crests that can be found in garden centers etc, but serious nurseries offer them too, look under "Special plants" at Cactus Art, for example.

Loph,
I was wondering if you still had the original pictures that accompanied this tutorial. I'm not sure if it's just me, bu the first, and most crucial and illustrative pictures only display an icon that says they were moved from photobucket. I'm very curious about crested cacti and without the illustrations, I'm a little confused when I read your post. I know this was several years ago but... i'm keeping my fingers crossed

It's saying page not found. Does anyone know where I can find this tutorial? I have a crest on Pereskiopsis. And although I am good at grafting regular cacti. I would like to see this tutorial with the pictures before I attempt to graft my only seed grown crest.
Thanks

O wow the pictures really help explain it. My crest is only about an inch long so I will probably give it until next spring. I'll post pictures of it. It's weird because it's only crested on one side and the other side looks normal.
