Echinocactus

Post by daiv »

Can you believe it? No E. horizonthalonis pics? Or the closely related. E. parryi?

Apparently I've never seen one in person or didn't realize that I never photographed one and passed by. :?

Happy to say this Genus is completely represented now. Pics of flowers, fruit, habitat would be a bonus.

Hello Daiv,
feel free to use any of the images I have sent in the past couple of years. Some do show the flower and there is probably also a picture with Echinocactus texensis and its pretty fruit. If you want me to I can send you the images in the JPEG format at 1200x900 bytes. As you probably already know, the fruit of E. horizonthalonius is hidden in a raised, pubescent area on the crown of the plant. I have harvested the seed, but never took an image of the fruit, because it does not look very showy.
