i bought christmas cactus cuttings around march. the pot im using has a drainage hole.at the time i layered rocks at the bottom and cactus soil mix on top. i planted them and so far they have taken root but i feel its been a slow growth process. i bought some cactus food to help with growth. ive used it twice. its been 6 months. i feel its too small to produce any flowers this year and thats ok. is there anything more i can do to help it grow strong? should i move it to a smaller pot?

I would go easy on that Dynamite stuff. It's crazy high in nitrogen. Not sure how they get away with selling it for cactus.
Looking in the background it looks like this isn't your first one. They are "jungle cactus" and like more water than regular cacti.
It has been my experience when small and first starting they grow extremely slow, but as they get bigger they grow faster.
Mine seem to like staying in one spot, and every time I move them it's a setback. I do rotate them to get equal sun, other than that leave them be once in a happy spot. If yours lives where it is in the picture,it might like a little more sunlight.
My limited experience says be patient and don't try to rush mother nature.
