Rebutia muscula?

Post by Glorioustache »

Hello all!
Bought this fellow at Walmart yesterday but I'm not sure of which type of Rebutia it could be. Though after doing my research it looks like a Rebutia muscula. What do you think?

Hard to tell, flowers would help as they are a characteristic orange colour. Generally R. muscula (the name means "mouse like", a reference to its "furry spines") is denser spined, but that could just be cultivation so far.

My Rebutia muscula.

It might also be Rebutia flavistyla, which is similar with less soft white spines.

Yes as Bryan says it could be R. flavistyla, which is another floriferous plant. Again it is hard to identify many Rebutia's without flowers.

Thanks a lot Dave and Bryan for the input. I will check out R. flavistyla. I guess I will know for sure which species it is when it flowers
