Hardy/tropical/rose of sharon hibiscus hybrids?

Hey guys I'm trying to figure out if hybrids are possible between the different major groups of hibiscus. I can't find a whole lot of information on the viability of this on the web. I want to cross rose of sharon with my tropical hibiscus to get more color varieties that can live year round in the Florida panhandle. Anyone have info or experience on this. If hybrids are achieved would they have intermediate cold tolerance? Or would they be fully one or the other?
