Brain cactus cutting - help

Post by CameronJames »

I bought a grafted brain cactus a few months back and it was doing fine until a week or so ago when I noticed a strange gray/brown something spreading from the graft up the cactus. I figured I might be able to salvage the top and cut it from the stem, and now the gray/brown whatever it is is spreading over the fresh part. Do I need to cut it off? Any advice? There's a photo of before cutting, right after cutting, and this morning.

Just treat it like any other cactus cutting. Although I don't bury the cutting, just have it touching the soil. 8)
