Tomentosa Cultivar?
Tomentosa Cultivar?
This plant was gifted to me and the person didn’t know the name. Looks somewhat like a Kalanchoe tomentosa without its markings.

Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
Are the leaves fleshy and succulent? If not, it's probably not a succulent and our collective knowledge may not be able to help
Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
Yes, definitely a succulent as the leaves are fleshy and fuzzy.

Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
There are many cultivars of Kalanchoe tomentosa, including ones without the brown markings. However, I don't think that's what it is, the leaf shape is not quite right. Might be another Kalanchoe, though see: https://toptropicals.com/catalog/uid/kalanchoe_sp.htm

Thank you. I’ll check this website and if the plant can be identified, I’ll be sure to annotate.

Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
That was supposed to be "leaf shape". Anyway, I'm not sure it's a Kalanchoe at all, but it looks likely.

Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
You may be correct, Greenknight. Although it is a succulent based on the fleshy and fuzzy leaves, I am coming to the conclusion it’s not a Kalanchoe.

Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
Can you post a photo of the whole plant shot sideways on?
Sometimes the stem is useful for id.

I’ve added a photo of the plant as seen sideways
Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
Actually it looks rather like a Plectranthus, but I can't manage to pinpoint it down, it's seems there's a lot of varieties, even upon the same species, but this looks rather close :

Agreed! Maybe P. a tenuiflorus form? Maybe not...?Jangaudi wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 10:19 am Actually it looks rather like a Plectranthus, but I can't manage to pinpoint it down, it's seems there's a lot of varieties, even upon the same species, but this looks rather close :

Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
The leaves on tenuiflorus seem more densely packed than the image above, maybe it's a hybrid tenuiflorus / neochilus
Re: Tomentosa Cultivar?
Apparently there’s a vast variance in the plant’s morphological structure within both the genus and species. I found a photo on the net that looks similar to my plant, but the labels are confusing as it reflects both P. tenuiflorus and aegypticus as the identification. I will add this web photo in my original post.
