I purchased several over the years from a company in the US called Out of Africa. I have a very large P. baronii blooming presently.

Who on earth would pay that amount. This is why people steal plants from their habitat because no one's gonna pay that much.

I can't imagine paying that much for a plant, even a very rare and large one (this is D. gigas ssp bullata which is much rarer and much slower growing than regular gigas).

I am a pachypodium lover in the United States. Although I only have a few, they are among my favorite plants. And I am slack-jawed in regard to your collection AND your objective. You could push me over with a breath... SO beautiful!

Thank you for sharing your photos and your story. Do you have an organization in which you have established an official stated objective of conservation ... An organization which could accept donations?

Hi Wayne,
I live on the Canary Islands and in Germany, in this time the Corona pandemie make big problems to find flights to go the Canary Islands also to come back. I wanted to stay onle for two weeks on Gran Canaria in September, but I have to stay for a month.
The end of October I shall go back with my wife and Labrador for some months.
As you know, together with a spanish friend we want to propagate all Pachypodium species that is our pleasure.
We have no Pachypodium club, but a help to get seeds: From a friend on Madagascar and a friend Walter Röösli from Zürich, Swizerland. My friend poted seedlings too to sell Plants, but the plants on the ground are only to protect the species.
I sew most of the seeds. P. baronii and P. windsorii are from own seeds the year.
Important is, that there are no plants are dig out more on Madagascar- it is a lost country- sorry, my opinion !
Big parts are destroyed from fires like in the Amazonas.
Here are some pic made in September

June 24/ 2019 I have presented our Pachypodien propagtion on the Canary islands .
Today we are cultvating all Pachypodien from Africa and Madagascar, there is only one ssp. missing :
Pachypodium rosulatum ssp. bemarahense- it is not possible to collect seeds at the habitat.
There are 28 species and subspecies.
From the seeds we have gotten also two crests, from Pachypodium mikea and Pachypodium baronii.
Today I wants to send some pics made this year.

what a great project you have going> If I lived there I would be volunteering full time and you could not keep me out.
I am former grower of all pachypodium species when I lived near Miami USA. Bought many seedling from Out of Africa when they were based in Naples USA. Now they have moved to SOuth Carolina and their plant prices have exploded to the moon. I have grown Baronii windsor to same size as your field plants and all others grew well and bloomed normally, only had issues with brevicaule as I tend to over water.
I stumbled on this site while looking for Baronii windsor seedss and am hoping I can purchase a few from you. I moved to temperate climate area and have no greenhouse but I would like to grew just a few pachy as I really like the plants.
thank you for what you are doing for pachypodiums and hopefully you can relieve the pressure on plants in the island.

Thanks for the photos, perez-suarez. Now I now that have a chance to see my pachypodiums blooming before these reach 1 - 2 m height.

I also heard that in Madagascar they value each other by the number of cows owned so the thorny weeds will not survive where grass can grow. Let's save them all!
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

This year in springtime I made some pics too.
