Cool plant...I'm clueless
Hello everyone
I saw this plant today at the nursery. It is a very peculiar plant and i haven't seen anything like it. Is it some sort of epiphyte?
Disclaimer: the dual spines make me think euphorbia but i have never seen a dangling euphorbia so

I agree. It's a very cool plant, and it's easy to see how somebody could get it confused with one of the flattened, epiphytic, forms of Disocactus (for example) at this stage, without a woody base to it!

Oh If I could find one of this in the nurseries around me...very cool plant
Re: Cool plant...I'm clueless
Looks for once as if it is planted correctly. The Caudiciform fans often just love planting the tuberous root above ground to produce a pseudo-caudiciform plant. The root is normally below ground in habitat I believe which keeps it cool.

Very nice find Rachel! This is from a spanish cactus wholesaler called cactus serrano. They are by far the best cactus supplier in our market. They do offer some rare plants like this euphorbia as compared to the endless swarms of mammillaria backerbegiana, glued on flowers, lollipops and similar repetitive cacti.
There are more cacti in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Thought Cactus Serrano were Spanish and did not sell online if so you would need to find if somebody sells their plants in your country.

However there seems to be plenty of E. stellata on EBAY, so try your local EBAY.

Yes they supply the market through wholesale. Some canary islands nurseries do so too. However, the vast majority comes from Holland.
I don't think there is ebay in Syria

Right, eBay does not operate in many countries, including Syria. I have loved ones who used to live on the border with Iraq, and they couldn't even get mail.

Wow thanks guys!
The photo is actually taken in Beirut where i go to college 3 days a week.
I ended up not getting it because it was a bit pricey and i don't have a good track record wirh euphorbia. Instead i got a very beautiful mammillaria matudae that has no central spines and the radials are black.
Point of interest though: are these more likely to be grown from seed or cuttings?

First time I've seen this plant. Considered importing some seeds but discovered the
species was listed as a weed so that's out. p.s. the caudiciform'd plants look great too.
Wondering if anyone has done that with cacti e.g. ones that have large tap roots?
