Harvesting Ferocactus seeds.

Hi I recently bought this Ferocactus hamatacanthus with the fruit already on it.
How do I know when it's the right time to harvest the seed pod?

The fruit will probably split open. But no guarenteed there will be seeds inside. At least that is something that could happen with Gymnocalyciums...
