Coleocephalocereus aureus

Alternate nomenclature | synonyms | varietal forms - Buiningia brevicylindrica, Buiningia brevicylindrica var. longispina, Buiningia aurea.

I have found this cactus to be very easy to grow and propagate.

This species produces numerous basal offsets replete with root bundles that soon form prominent and colorful lateral cephaliums consisting of white wool and golden bristles followed by large, globular, bright red fruit.

Hi James,

Beautiful specimen - thanks for sharing. I have not had luck with C. aureus seeds. I was just at my vet and he told me about your talk at the Historical Society. You are certainly a man of many talents.

Hello James
What a beautiful plant-just great. How old is your buiningia?
In which age of the plant can you expect a cephalium?
It's a great wish to own a Buiningia with cephalium.
Do you know a source for plant or seeds of buinngia purpurea HU 359 or other species of Buiningia/ Coleocephalocereus?
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Just for your information my PM (uluedi@gmx.net).

Best regards
Urs
