In honor of our recent photo contest, here's a link to a site that already has a great deal of info, despite being in process, Joe Shaw's Opuntiads:

Since there is not one of these threads for succulents, I will post it here, this is a great source for everything Haworthia. This guy really knows his stuff, and is a great tool for helping to ID also:

Thank you, daiv. I have taken that site down and replaced it with Discocactus in Cultivation (link in my signature block below). I solicit all comments, corrections and suggestions.

Sounds good! There is also a place in your user profile where you can add a website address too -this is good if you want search engines to find your site.

I love that genus, but only have one. Nice pics on your site. If you have extra of any species, please consider posting them in the trade section.

Thanks, Tim. I do have extra plants but I don't sell or trade them. I also hate to pack and ship plants as gifts. However, Tim, if you stop by here I will be glad to give you some.

Here is one especially for Peterb! Dr. Jon Rebman turned me on to this:

http://bajaflora.org/

Click on plant photos, type in a genus and away you go. You can use the thumbnail feature too, but I would say check the list first to catch misspellings.

I found there is an M. brandegeei and an M. brandegei.

wow, awesome! I could spend a lot of time poking around at that site. Great to see so many of George Lindsay's old photos up there.

wow, that's a lot of links. I checked the seed sellers and a few were broken or out of date. Looks like maybe the links need an update, but there was this link at the top to a cactus blog with a time lapse video of a L. diffusa flowering:

http://lophophora.blogspot.com/

Also on that blog, check out the new species description and photos for the miniature Lophophora alberto-vojtechii. (second post down). Awesome!
