I found a geohintonia mexicana pushed a flowring bud up few days ago. Bad weather continued since and the cactus may not be able to open the flower.

Two cacti species were in flower yesterday.

I bought seeds of Gymnocalycium hossei v rhodantherum and sowed in 2004.
I am not sure the actual name but I refer to the name tag of seeds.

G'morning MrXeric,
I like this plant. Huge stem, tiny flower
This is not a normal size of flower for the cactus.
Astrophytum species are in flower between spring and autumn. Flowers in late autmn are very small, similar to the flower on the photo.
It is spring and so the flower should not be this size. Unfortunately the weather in here is abnormal in this year and it is not warm enough.

G'morning Bryan,

I spent several years to get a true red flowering asterias.
If the stigma of flower was red, it is a true red flowering asterias.
