who is this echinocereus?

who is this echinocereus?

this plant is sowing as E.canus from Sul Ross University, Alpine, Texas, but spines and flowers are very different.Any ideas?

Looks to me like some canus genes perhaps mixed with russanthus or chloranthus. Nice!

Might be Ecer. russanthus var. vulpis-cauda?

oh yeah maybe vulpis-cauda. Don't know that one very well.

I think the russanthus has much in common although different for white spines. I believe that the hypothesis is good: a hybrid between the chloranthus and russanthus.
