Saving pollen

Post by cactushobbyman »

Is there a way to save pollen? I have one plant flowering now and the other has swollen buds. :)

I have seen people collect pollen with a q tip. Then place the qtip into a plastic bag and into the freezer. I have not tried this myself but it seemed to have worked for those that have.

shows ya what I know. lol but the advice I got was from someone with way more experience than me, so I placed mine (on qtipes) inside the fridge in plastic baggies that I let all the air out of. Hopefully it will work, if not that's ok. Looks like I will have an O. engelmannii and an O. aurea hybrid blooming on the same day (tomorrow)
