LOC.gov website

Post by Peterthecactusguy »

an aside.

I decided to take a quick peek at the Library of Congress website. I also decided after looking at maps for a few to see what happened when you type in Cactus in the search. There are over 1000 items, and I got part way through. It's interesting to look at some of the old pictures. A lot of them of course are misidentified and a few aren't even cactus but there are some amazing shots from long ago.. including some of Opuntia from WY, MD, IN, and a few other places. I think they all were O. humifusa..(or fragilis for the northern states)

So if you are ever bored.. :)

TBH that's what I was looking at first. They were interesting. Black Canyon City is labeled as Gillete in most of them. :)
