Notocactus leninghausii

Post by Belugas789 »

Hello, I have a Notocactus leninghausii that's about 2in. in length and it's in a pot about 3in. in length. Will I be able to pollonate these guys(I have three of them in one pot)and if I can what will their fruits look like and ,when ripe, will the fruit crack open, fall off, etc.? Also do I have to move them into a bigger pot or do I have to let them stay in their current pot? How long does it take for the fruit to ripe and if my cat eats the fruit, will it hurt him? PLEASE RESPOND!

Yes, if you get them to flower at the same time they are easy to pollinate. Masses of pollen on nice big open flowers.

You won't miss the fruit! When it is ripe it will be hollow, packed full of seed, and will detach at the base so the seeds tend to spill out.

Thank you. Do you know if the fruit will hurt my cat if he ate it?

No, it won't hurt your cat unless it chokes on it. :|
