Growth Habits: Multi branching columnar tree cactus with a dense growth of stems. It grows up to 4.5 m (15feet) tall, and up to 5 m (16 feet) in wide.

Scientific name: Myrtillocactus geometrizans.

Common names: Garambullo, Bilberry Cactus, Blue Flame, Whortleberry Cactus.

Synonym: Cereus pugioniferus, Cereus geometrizans, Myrtillocactus grandiareolatus, Myrtillocactus geometrizans var. pugionifera, Myrtillocactus pugionifer.

Etymology: Myrtillocactus :-The name refers to the fruits which resemble those of the bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus)
geometrizans :- Derives from the Latin adjective "geometricus" meaning "geometric"

Origin: Northern central Mexico down to Oaxaca.

Light: Light shade when young, full sun later.

Compost: I find the usual standard well draining mix works well.

Water: Regular from spring to autumn allow soil to dry between waterings, dry in winter.

Flower: Creamy white starting once the plant reaches around 2 feet (0.6m) tall.

Min temp: References suggest -4 C (25F) for very short periods, my experience suggests they are best kept above freezing.
