I use jusbertii seedlings as grafting stocks.
Since seedlings height are varied, I adjust height by cutting lower part of stocks after confirmation of successful graftings.
All my stocks height are 20 cm.
Plants on the photo are under rooting currently.
Yes they have begun to grow. It is late spring in here. Grafted scion will start to grow even if there are no roots on the stock.

Interesting. Have you done any research on the best height or is it a practical reason you are using 20 cm and not 15 or 10 cm stocks?Hanazono wrote:Since seedlings height are varied, I adjust height by cutting lower part of stocks after confirmation of successful graftings.

When a scion was grafted a taller (larger) stock, the scion would grow faster generally.
I use 60 cm height stocks for special scions.
On the other hand, a taller stock is easier to buckle when the scion became larger.
I once set the height as 30 cm but the buckling became a problem.
There was not special reasons but I set up a shorter grafting stock which was 20 cm.

fissuratus v lloydii varigated x retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri Cauliflower
I have only one plant, varigated fussuratus v llydii and try to transfer varigation to Cauliflower.
My intension is not making a hybrid but the plant is actually a hybrid.
Sown seeds on 02/10/10 and found 3 varigated seedlings. I grafted 3 of them on 26/11/10.
I took the photo this morning.
